Hello all, I had a 6 inch Peacock eel die overnight and I don't know why. It's colors looked good and it was active when I went to bed last night. Seven hours later, it was dead. It ate a regular diet of (thawed) frozen bloodworms. Three days ago I did about a 30% water change and added a teaspoon of AmQuel plus by Kordon. Levels as of this post are about:
PH - 8, ammonia - 0, nitrite - 0.25. It's a 10 gallon tank with two tire track eels (about 3 -4 inches), a royal and an albino pleco ( about 2-3 inches), two 1/2 inch flounder, a three inch dojo, and a small golden snail. All the other fish also seem to be doing good. They eat when fed, have good colors and are active. Before the water change, levels were higher then they are now and all seemed to be doing well then. The tank has a 1/2" sandy bottom with some live plants and a whisper 20 power filter. Can someone give me some good advice on maintaining good water levels and not killing any more fish?

Thanks

I'd guess it might have something to do with overstocking.

Get rid of everything but the snail or else you're pretty much guaranteeing that they'll all die. Either that or buy a much larger tank.
