my male golden barb have been sick for 2 weeks and have not been recovered.. i cun bare to see him sick... so sorry.. but i feed it to my arowana(dragon fish)...
Provided they don't have parasites, its usually fine to do so Pixie. Healthy fish will not contract any of the problems the food fish has unless there is stress/health issues already bothering the predator. (outside of mainly internal parasites, and some external ones)
I would wager that the majority of a predatory fishes natural prey is diseased or disabled. Otherwise they would have been fast enough to avoid predation.
oppx... but i've been feedin my arowarna wif many different type of fishes from sick to dead.. and nthin happen to it..
well i am also hopin tat it dies.. cause i tot of buyin my dad a new red tail golden arowarna.. its his fav.. and buy some stingyray to make it look beautiful.. cool rite...
that is the most ridiculous thing i have ever read - why not try selling the poor creature to your LFS rather than killing it.
How would you feel if your parents had enough of you after a couple of years and euthanised you? huh?
People on this site are here to help you keep yr fish alive and in the odd ocasion suggest the most humane way to put a fish down. I think you should re-address your attitude towards living creatures.
Sorry to rant but stupidity annoys the heck out of me.
Well... this looks to me like a case where a hobbyist feels he is 'done with' a certain fish - and desperately wants to make space for another one. This is a typical scenario with predatory fish like Arowana, Flower Horn, Devils etc., which are normaly kept solo in their considerably large tanks.
In a situation like this, I would gift my fish away to someone - instead of 'praying' for it to die.
