I have a variety of Cory I can't really identify.

This little fella here:

I also have 3 of these (the one in the foreground), and they appear to be Julii's...

They were sold under the same name from the same tank, but clearly they are a different species....not just the markings are different, but even their bodies are slightly different (the first has a more outward pointing mouth whereas the second has a more downward pointing mouth, etc).

Any help identifying these guys would be greatly appreciated :) I'm fairly sure the second is a Julii, but I'm really not firmiliar enough with Cories to know for a fact.

I have 3 of each variety btw - considering getting them each another buddy (bringing them up to 4 each) if I can find the exact species. They DO seem to all hang together the vast majority of the time however.

Thanks guys :)

Looks like a Leapord Cory to me. I found this site which shows an image of one.

EDIT: Now that I researched more is looks more like this: Corydoras acrensis

Hope that helps,

I would ID your first cory as a Corydoras blochi
http://www.corycats.com/c.%20blochi.jpg link to a picture, very similar in markings, head structure, tail shape and gill plates.

Your second I am 99% sure that its a Corydoras trilineatus (Julliis are spotted rather than lined)

Here is a link to a picture of the tris,

It definatly does resemble the Blochi very closely.

Thanks guys :) On both counts.

These little guys are great - I'm still going to add some black phantom tetras to the aquarium, but afterward I am hoping that I still have enough stocking room to add another pair of cories (1 each) so that there are 4 of each species rather than 3.......still though, at least right now they are all 6 schooling together and hanging out together the vast majority of the time.

We'll see ...Thanks again for the help fellas :)

Greatly appreciated.

I think its a good idea to get one more of each if you can find them, but I'm not suprised they will hang out together, they look very similar with the spots and all :)

That is what I want to do, but I just don't know if I will have room or not.

I'm still going to add Tetras to fill out the upper areas of the aquarium - after that I'm not sure if the aquarium can handle 2 more Cories or not (hoping so).

20 Gallon tank and right now I only have the 6 Cories, but after the tetras I dunno. Might be pushing it. Would definatly be nice though.
