Normally I use shelf paper or paint the back of my tank. I bought an acrylic aquarium, and decided to get the blue/black background they sell at the lfs. An old thread indicated people really liked how it looked adhered with vegetable oil or vaseline. Vegetable oil is probably ok, vaseline is questionable. I'll have to test each in a small spot. Anybody know what works well to hang a background on an acrylic tank?

Vegetable oil will break down and rot after a while. Vaseline, I wouldn't trust it. Go with Baby oil or any other mineral oil. Its been holding my backround up for years with only minimal lifting.

Sadly, I can be picky.
Shawna, just so I'm clear, are you using mineral or baby oil on an acrylic tank?
