I've just begun a Flourish regimen with my tanks this week (Flourish, F. Excel, and F. Iron), but i was wondering if the addition of liquid ferts is going to be adequate for the plants that i have. (they are listed in my signature). do any of them need a greater concentration of nutrients at the root level instead of in the water? i'm having success with my anubias and wisteria, but all the rest are fairly new additions, and the swords unfortunately aren't doing so hot as they weren't in the best shape when i bought them.

also - pruning questions
is it better to trim unhealthy-looking leaves from the swords and let them grow new from the center, or will that just cause trouble? how much is too much?

the anacharis has those areas in the center of the stem where it gets very full and lush, and then it looks like a new stem has sprung out of the top of it and kept growing. can i cut them at that point and replant both parts with success?

i've had one of my anubias for over 4 years, and i've never seen it bloom. is there any way that i can force some flowers? same with the cabomba - it was in bloom when i bought it, but stopped.

I used to do largely substrate ferts, now do largely water column ferts. To me it is six of one, a half-dozen of the other. But I do confess that I had a bit of a learning curve during the change-over, as some tanks were one technique and some the other. Now I do find water column only a bit easier.

Anubias for me blooms best with the roots (not the rhizome) planted, but I do have some rock-attached rhizomes blooming. Small rhizomes don't bloom much, large/long rhizomes bloom chronically.

Yes on the anacharis question. Yes, prune unhealthy leaves, though on swords, I tend to leave them on until they pull off easily instead of cutting/ripping them off. Anyone else?
I read somewhere that cooler whater change and shorter daylength could bring on flowering. Can't remember if it was pertaining to anubias or not. Mine seem to flower enough that I didn't pay much attention to the info...sorry.
