When doing my water changes, I usually turn everything off before I start. Yesterday when I tested my water, my nitrates weren't all that high so I just did a quick gravel vac(10-15% water change) and left everything running. I noticed the flow of my filter had decreased dramatically. I was wondering why? I always take the intake tube off and clean any gunk that may have accumulated on the end. I tried to run water through the tube, and it was barely coming out the impeller side. I blew on the intake end, and got a face full of funk(ewwwww!) Now my filter is back to it's regular flow rate. So if you are running a HOB, make sure to clean out the entire intake tube, and not just the mesh at the end. :dive:
