I have treated my 3 oscars with Quick Cure and they are doing a lot better now. I am just wondering how long I continue using the medicine and when should I put my carbon inserts back into the filters. Also, would a partial water change be a good idea at this point also. Thx a lot.

First off, sorry if I sounded a little harsh in the previous thread.

I follow what I learned from Skeptical Aquarist.

This is quoted from Skeptical Aquarist.
Here's my most important advice: Continue the salt bath or medication three days after you can find no Ich encysted on any fish, not even the least bit of maybe a possible one. You want to eliminate every encysted tomont and especially that last stray swarmer. It only takes one successfully lodged in a gill to start the whole Ich cycle again and convince you that Ich is always "lurking" in the water. Afterwards do several good big water changes, and then put fresh carbon in the filter to adsorb any residual drugs.

I suggest giving this site a good read. Very educational and easy to understand.

Good luck.

If you don't see any more cysts on them, you can stop treating the tank and put the carbon back. A partial water change would also be good.
