Im new here. Just to introduce my self my name is Joe and I am a senior at UCLA. I just set up my ten gallon tank and decided to grow plants in my aquarium. I went to petsmart to buy a few plants and followed this article for setting up my gravel and substrate "http://www.thekrib.com/Plants/kelly-intro.html" .On top of the substrate I put regular aquarium gravel. I put a bit more vermiculite then soil, but I compensated but putting in flourishtabs by seachem near the roots. I have 6 plants all together in the aquarium and I could put a lot more in. I dont know exactly what the plants are called but I do know that they are under the hard to kill section of aquabotanic.com. The leaves have turned brown in some areas and it looks as if they are going to fall apart if they continue to change color. The water is fine according to all my tests. I have a bio wheel mini circulating the water. I also added some flourish tabs by seachem to the soil to help feed the plants. What am I doing wrong? What do I need to do differently?
