Hey,
I was wondering if anyone could help us. We currently have a 55 gallon tank with two gouramis (pretty sure both males), 3 pristella tetras, 1 pleco, 1 angel, 1 betta, and 4 snails. Yesterday we discovered a whole bunch of clear eggs bunched together in what seemed to be a mucus-like substance. They were on one of the plants, closer to the bottom of the tank. We have no idea who they could belong to - we thought maybe the snails but I have read that snails can not lay their eggs in the water or they will drown. Does anybody have any ideas or suggestions??? :help:

the only thing i could possibly think it would be is the pristilla tetra... logically tahts the only thing in there that could have done that considering everyone else in there is either same sex or single fish.

There are snails that do lay their eggs under water. Tetras are egg scatterers, the eggs wouldn't be in a gelatin mass, it does sound like snail eggs to me.

definately snail eggs

definitely snail eggs, i have the same problem in my tank
