Ok, this seems to be an ongoing question about sand, so I figured I'd ask those I trust. Is silica sand going to be a problem in marine tanks?

I've recently picked up my 55g tank and bought two 50/lb bags of play sand from toys r us. The bag didn't label it, but the company they buy it from is named Silica. So if 2 and 2 really equals 4 then you see where I am going.

My question is "If I use this stuff will it cause proplems for me or is this really just over amplified possibilities.

I've read that it's fine to use

What do you guys think?

Nope it wont cause any problems, and its not much diffrent the Aragonite sand, the onyl diffrence Silica sand wont add any buffering like Aragonite will, but thats not very important (there is a myth that Silica sand causes Diatom growth, but Diatoms only use dissolved Silica in the water)
