"might" not work?? I think it's cruel to even try.... the stress level in the tank is going to be inbelievable. The male guppies are a huge mistake too because of the flashy tails. What are you trying to do with this set-up??
yeah you deffinatly want to stay away from 2 male bettas together in that size tank. A friend of mine tried adding two male bettas into a 75 gallon heavily planted tank and they lasted together for about half a day.
I really hope you are kidding, fishisme. Those fish won't last a day not to mention what the guppies will do to them. Guppies will nip their fins and tear them to shreds. I'd never put guppies in with betta fish. I had 7 guppies in a tank with 3 platies and they ripped the one platy's tail to shreds.

Bettas arent called Siamese Fighting Fish for nothing. They have been bred to fight to the death. I think a Betta is best kept alone in a smaller tank, maybe with a snail or a ghost shrimp. 2.5 gallons should suffice, mine seems to be doing great alone in a 2.5 gal, started blowing bubbles the night I got him.
as you can see thats no bueno (that means "no good" for the spainsh impared -lol-) yea they will tear each other to pieces BUT something i could suggest it that you get a tank divider if you REALLY want two bettas in the tank and keep one on each side but still no guppies in the tank with bettas
It is possible, I have done it succesfully (2 males and 3 females that actually all shoaled together, never fought at all), BUT Don't try it.
males can't be mixed with females either. and the bettas would tear apart the guppies for their colorful fins too.

If you already have all but the one more male and everything is fine, i wouldn't touch anything and make sure that I breathed just right too. As for stores buying guppies, unless they are having a problem with their own feeders, it's not likely they awould buy guppy fry unless they were a special color strain or something akin to that. Still, never hurts to ask them.fishisme said:
