The last few days one of my guppies that was previously fine has been swimming almost vertically. Can't seem to keep himself horizontal and has just been sort of floating at the top although I can see him trying to swim, especially during feeding. So he's still eating.

What do I do about this. I do have a 5 gallon Q-tank I can put him in but I'm not sure what I need to so to help him. Or is it too late? Is this something that can be treated?

Thanks everyone in advance,
Curtis

Unfortunately reingnman, guppys are not nearly the fish they used to be...Digestive problems are much more common these days then ever...It could be this instead of swimbladder...Try a no feed day and see what happens..Maybe in future, try 2 smaller portions instead of 1 larger feeding...I have also supplemented algae wafers instead of regular staple food for my community fish twice a week...Lots of vegiges seem to keep the "pipes flowin"...Good luck!

Well crap. they do get a well rounded diet. It's my 10 gallon community at the bottom. My feedings are once daily. Staples are Veggie Flakes, Tropical Flakes, Tropical Granules, or Color pellets. I also toss in broccoli or zuccini twice a week, sinking wafers twice a week and some shrimp pellets here and there. Gave them a little piece of orange once so far and they loved it. I also fast on Sundays. This week I didn't feed them on Saturday at all.

So I have fasted them. I don't want to fast too much as I have 2 guppy fry right now. But as you can see they get quite a varied diet.

Should I Q-tank the guppy and fast for another day or 2 maybe?
