Using old saltwater tank for fresh now

i just aquired a used tank that recently housed marine fish. i plan on keeping a cichlid or 2 in it. my question is should i be concerned about any left over minerals that could be harmful for freshwater fish. i'm going to use a different substrate than what was in the tank when it was a saltwater set up. is rinsing the tank real good going to be enough to safely house cichlids?

Use a little oxi-clean or a light bleach mix and clean well. Then rinse and you should be ok. Just as long as there is not a build up of minerals on the walls there should be no problems. Do not use soap on the tank.
