How many convicts could I put in a 29 Gallon? I want to make sure I get at least one breeding pair. If I can get more than one breeding pair for that size tank, will Black Cons crossbreed with Pink Cons? Don't wanna screw this up.
Thanks In Advance

Single pair. Yes, they will interbreed as they are the same species.
I have 1 male & 3 females in my 29G

IMO i would recommend 2 total
the problem w/only 2 fish is dat, when the male gets bored, frustrated, angry, excited, he'll only have 1 other fish to release on... could get old real fast for the sole female. daz what happened to my pair. now w/3 females, no one female will get harassed all day.
would target or dither fish be an option for this venting of anger?
I tried using zebra danios as targets but the male convict is too fast & has killed them all (& ate them all).

Hey Thanks Everyone!
I'm gonna try to get a pair, I just don't know how to sex them and you never know if you can trust the guy working at PetCo as to whether or not he knows which is which either. Should I just get like 5 until a couple pair off and then take the others back?? Sorry for all the questions, but I'd like to get this right on the first try, so I figure I might as well ask'em now rather than have a disaster than ask.
Thanks Again

if you want good target/dither fish try giant danios they are faster than zebra danios and are also a little bit bigger

Good approach...The five fish reduce to two method of pairing off is the recommended way to get a pair...I don't know if PetCo will want the other three back, but you can probably find someone in your area who might be interested in them or you could keep them in another tank or something. Good luck
