I am setting up my new 10 gallon tank very soon. I was planning on keeping my old betta tank (1.5 - 2 gallons in size) as a quarantine tank when bringing in new fish (currently there are 2 minnows in it awaiting the new tanks readiness). When bringing in new fish should I add water to the little tank from the established 10 gallon, make new water or use the dreaded water they give you with the fish to start with. I know eventually I should add water fromt he established tank but I don't know whether or not I should add it at the beginning.

Thanks

Never use Fish store water Just float the bag15 min, then add some of your tank water to the bag (1/4)15 min later the same again. Then net your fishy out of the bag and put him in the q-tank Once you have q-tanked him do the same before you put him in the main tank.:D
Some people use there old water from the main tank to top up there q-tank that way the water is very close, but you need to watch your paramiters.
