OK, I'm gonna make the plunge and get a Python gravel cleaner/water changer.

Question is about the best water source.

My kitchen is closest, but I have one of those pull out/spray faucets (PricePfister), will the Python connect to that? Also has anyone messed up their faucet (stripped the threads, etc.). It's an expensive faucet I don't want to mess up.

The alternative is to use the bathroom faucet. I assume it's a standard one. With the bathroom sink not being very deep, will the Python fit under it?

On most of the pull out faucet type sprayers the threads are recessed below the spray area. If that is the case with yours then you will not be able to use it on that faucet.

Its too large for my bathroom faucet...I have had no trouble with my kitchen sink you won't mess up your threads as long as you are "gentle" don't force it! and don't be in a hurry.....I have 20-someodd tanks I have to change water in atleast 2x a week...the python has given me a social life again - you wounder how you ever lived without it!

I think your mistaken. Python's are used to do water changes and a gravel vac. So, yes, they have every right to post a question regarding a python. What's it to ya, anyway?

Ronfl,
I have one of those expensive Moens and, assuming yours is pretty much the same type as mine, try the following:

Pull the fauct head out. See where the big faucet head attaches to the metal-type hose? That part will unscrew. Unscrew it, but be careful:
a) you may need a wrench
b) if you get it off and let go of the hose, it'll fall back down under your sink and it's a pootie to get back up again :)

It's actually a good thing for you to unscrew that, because gunk and stuff will accumulate there and block your water flow. Plumber told me this :)

Anyhow, unscrew the faucet head and you should be left with just the hose and a connector. In the connector is a aerator, remove that. See of the Python will thread into the connector. If it doesn't fit, DO NOT go to the store and buy a Python connector (this is direct from Python, btw), go to Lowes or Home Depot or whatever hardware store you have and take the python and the faucet head with you. You'll find a connector piece that will join the Python with your hose there in the plumbing section. About $6.00 USD.

Now, even if these instructions don't match your faucet exactly, they may still give you an idea of how to take it apart. The head HAS to come off or it can't be installed in the sink. You just have to figure out how it was put on, that's all.

Let me know if this helps,
Roan

PS
No, I've never messed up my threads. I love my Python! I have a 30 foot hose and it reaches from the kitchen upstairs to my son's room to his 20 gallon with some left over. Mind you, I have vaulted ceilings and run the hose up the wall to the second floor balcony, so your milleage may differ :)
