Hello all i would just like to post what i have please tell me something back...

Got a 20g tank -
1-Oscar Med Tiger
2-rose barbs
2-Jacks
2-Green Terror

I have done a 5g change on the tank since i was having problems with cloudy water but i still have somewhat of a cloudy tank what more could i do to resolve my cloudy tank?

ur tank is way over stocked

.. Here we go again ..

Keep in Mind There Small right now -i will be getting 55g tank later on plan on getting maybe something bigger then that dont know what a good size will be i dont want no 200 -300g i would like to find a place on the net that might have some deals on tanks if there is any...PLease suggest what i should do later on down the growing trail?

None of those cichlids are suited for a 20 gal, if they were alone, not mentioning all together. Add another 100 gallons and you might be OK.

I almost thought this was another joke thread....

If its serious:

Go right away and get a 100 gallon tank. Save your money and go big right away, dont buy a medium tank then have to upgrade later anyways. A 75 gallon is bare minimum for an oscar... and if you want to keep other large SA/CA cichlids with it your gonna need even more space.

Get those fish ASAP out of the 20 gallon. You have cloudy water for a reason... take it as a hint... there is way to much bioload in there. When you say youve done A 5 GALLON CHANGE since youve had problems with cloudy water does that mean just one?

With that many fish you should be doing 10-20% water changes daily just to keep them healthy. That may help with your cloudy water as well. If you keep any of these fish other than the barbs in there for very long they will get stuned and deformed, get diseases such as hole in the head, and die an early death.

Is this a new tank? Did you cycle it?

Well, if you put all those fish in at the same time.....you won't have them for long I'm thinking. Have you read the sticky on cycling a tank ?

Those fish get huge and will out grow that tank pretty quickly and your rosy barbs won't last very long....lol....they'll be lunch for someone in there.

But...I'm thinking this is one of those ... :troll: ... threads.....just a thought..

You could always give the fish back to the store of find someone who will take the fish, then you won't have to buy a new tank right away, you could save up your money, etc.

As for now, do daily water changes, (i'd say 40%) until you get the water uncloudy, then go down to 10-20 percent daily until you work out the bioload.

You said they were small, how small is small?

it's people like you who **** me off. do some reseach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just do us a favor and stop trying to keep fish so that we won't have to read such idiotic set ups.

if its a temporary tank then its fine. come on we've all done this at least once in our lives dont deny it.
the only problem i can see is that the oscar is too mellow for the other fish. he most likely will be killed someday by the green terrors. oscars cant fight, they try but they usually lose and thats when they are killed.
but since your getting a bigger tank someday then at least you have this 20 gallon to keep the "bad guys" in case of emergency. i call these tanks "the Prison"
dont worry about it, do what you want. someone will always say theres something wrong with it, because thats what forums do best :)
youll know someday from your own judgement when its time to change tanks or tankmates. after all when you see a 12" oscar in a small tank your gonna want to see him swimming in a huge tank and thats what im sure you will do :cool2:
