I could have sworn we had an equipment specific forum. I wanted to bring up the topic of a new approach (at least ot me) to in-tank filters that rather combines the HOB with the in-tank version. While I have always preferred the HOB because they do not take up space in the tank, I realize there are applications that address particular scenarios, such as a sponge filter in the tank for fry.

Anyway, I couldn't help but appreciate the cleverness and design effort put into the product below. It addresses my issue with taking tank space by making the filter part of the decor. Perhaps this style filter has been around for a bit, but I only just saw it this morning while browsing Big Al's site. Regardless of which application it is best suited, I just appreciate it when new products are developed, especially ones that solve problems, which means more focus on the hobby. Here's a link: http://www.bigalsonline.ca/catalog/product.xml?product_id=34227;category_id=2259;pcid 1=;pcid2= A fairly detailed description is included. What do you think?

i saw one of these at petco, i like the idea but for a 10 gallon tank its such a big piece of furniture. it looks to me like it would take up about 1/3 of your tank space. well anyway thats just my opinion.
