Picture of my fish (New Goldfish Thread)

After carefully studying and comparing your picture against known pictures, I have concluded that it is a common Goldfish. I have found that Fancy Goldfishes have a unique body shape (they have this “hump-back” look). Your Goldfish on the other hand does not have this “hump-back” look, but it does have the right body shape of a regular Goldfish; a smooth line from start to finish, like an Oscar!

Final Analysis
Body shape: Correct for a Goldfish
Size: way off for its age, but Correct for a younger Goldfish
Color: Correct for a Goldfish
Fin(s): does not contain a high colored fin(s) like most Fancy Goldfish, so it is Correct for a Goldfish
Unique body parts: Inconclusive (huge abdomen/stomach for its size)

The huge abdomen/stomach could be explained by “stunt-growth.” See, the organs are all stuff in there in a small body (like a stuff pillow), although I’ am unsure if the organs are still growing, but going by the look of your pictures, it looks like they are.

You don’t have to take my word for it, it’s only my opinion.

what gold fish is orange and white, has a tail that looks like its has 3 tails, and the body is egg shaped, but the fish is really small...like the size of a bottle cap.

I baught my girlfriend one, but it died...but i dont know why her other 2 feeder goldfish lived...

Thanks

You need to take another look my friend!

Every common Goldfish has some “white” on their belly; all of mines do. That one does not have “white” any where else on its body. Try enlarging the image to get a better look at it. The egg shape look is due to its small size; the small size is cause by being in a 5 gallon tank for one year (it’s called “stunt-growth”). Try and image the fish growing longer, it would look like a regular goldfish. Every Fancy Goldfish on the other hand has a “Land Mark,” on their body (hump, huge eyes, high colored fin(s), and so on). Her Goldfish does not have any of does “Land-Marks,” look at the eyes, its back without a hump, and no high colored fin(s), the dorsal fin is so clear that it can not be seen. As for the tail, the only assumption that I can make is that the body may have stop growing while the tail continued to grow to its normal size (it becomes to big for its body).

Compare her image against the ones on this site, than maybe you might agree with me.
Fancy Goldfish!

Zero, you have some good facts there but how do you know the age of the fish and size of the tank?
She mentioned it; Her Goldfish is now in a 20 gallon tank. Look for the thread call New Goldfish.
New Goldfish!

Thanks

Thanks everybody!!

That is what I thought it was (Stunt growth). Do you think he or she will be okay? That is another thing how do I if it is a male or female?

I also found out that it was not a 5 gallon tank it was a 1 or 2 gallon tank, and she used to have two goldfish in there but the other one died a long time ago.

Well he seems to like the new home he swims around all day.

Thanks!!!!

i guess i got her a Ryukin Goldfish. Looks just like the on on the top left, but with more orange spots.
