Angel Question

unfortunately, I don't think there is a straight answer. Chances are pretty good that when the angels get larger they will try out the neons. From what I understand this is their natural prey in the wild. However, you can't be sure till you give it a shot. I would probably not try, just to avoid any wasted money, and lost fish, but that is totally up to you. I've also heard that when they are raised together, they are less likely to be eaten than if you were to throw in some neons with adult angels.

What kind of mix/numbers of fish are you thinking? A 55g is a good sized tank, but it sounds like you've got alot going on. I would be careful with that too Depends on what you like I guess, but after I combined a couple of my tanks and have all kinds of different fish I really wish I had more numbers of less species, there is way too much going on, and none of the fish school very well

I had 2 angels in a community tank from when they were tiny and they always got on with all the others just fine. It was only when they got bigger (i'm talking more than 2 years down the line) that they started being agressive, but only towards each other. They didn't bother the other fish. It is really hit and miss dependant on each individual's personality.

i have two large angels. their bodies are about 4 in across.i have rummy nose tetras and a blue ram and the angels dont bother them at all. the only thing tho is every once in awhile a rummy nose will nip at one of the angels fins. not bad, but he never gives the fins a chance to grow back all the way. ive seen cardinals do the same thing too. so you run the risk of that. as far as angels goin after smaller fish, i've never seen it. so if you have the room for them, i say go for it! :thm:
