not sure what is going on, i have had angels before and have never seen this. one or two of the four have been observed what i can only describe as "shuttering". it swims, twitches several times while swimming, then acts normal.

i don't have a test kit so have been unable to test as yet. i have a 25 high, 4 silver dollar sized locally bred (sort of) angels, 2 older albino cory cats, and 1 pygmy cory. i have a live sword fromthe same tank i purchased the angels from. my corys are not flashing or scratching, but i have observed and occassional scratch by 2 (?) of my angels. seems scratching is a parasite but nothing is visible, and two of the angels are black, 2 pearlscale.

thanks for any ideas.

I've seen this with my angel as well. I assume it is a territorial/mating display. I wouldn't worry too much unless other signs present themselves. Also an accasional scratch is nothing to worry about. Everyone get an itch now and then.

mooman is absolutely correct. It's a teritorial display the fish are having. These guys sound young though buy watch these guys carefully, it may end up that you will need to separate the aggressors permanently or be prepared with some nasty results. If you don't have another tank set up, I would see if you could return a couple of them before the threats get serious.

i am so glad i asked this question...and excited! i was thinking the same thing but had never seen it before (only kept one breeding pair per tank and never let them sort themselves out).

i came to the conclusion b/c i do have a male maturing, per breeding tube, and was dominating away. things are calming down temporarily and another tank is ready as soon as i get a filter.

thrilled to find confirmation! thanks!
