I offered to take four fish fabout 6 months ago. I put them in a ten gallon tank heated to 75 degrees. I bought a few other fish to go with them. They were a plecostomus & 2 rainbow tetras. Now the only fish left in the tank are the pleco & these four guys or gals. I have no idea what they are. The store that I buy all of my fish & fish supplies from said they could try to find someone to take them, but they would like me to try to find out what kind of fish they are. I will post pics as soon as I get them, but I can describe them. They are all the same size. They look exactly the same, except two are white & two are silver. They are approx. 2-3 inches long.

Any ideas on what they are from my description? I know it isn't much of a description, but it's a start, isn't it? I will post pics ASAP(I have to go take some now). Thanks!

Black and white tetra (Gymnocorymbus ternetzi) perhaps?

what shape are they, fins? stripes? spots? anything else?

I just Googled pictures of the black & white tetra. They are about the same color as the white tetras, but they are longer. They aren't round like the tetras. They are almost white. Their mouths look different. Not that much of this is probably helping. I am going to have pictures as soon as I get them on the computer. I took them & am in the process of loading them now.

Sorry blitzen. I didn't see your post before I posted. They look like they have some stripes on them. No spots. Their bellies on both sides are darker with lighter(almost silvery white) stripes(2 stripes) through the darker part. The white ones are a pinkish white with a red colored eyes. The white ones make me think of albino rats. Their fins look like normal fish fins. I don't really know how to describe them.

I am lousy at describing fish. I should have pictures really soon. Those will work much better than my crummy descriptions.

Thanks for the suggestions so far!

Here is one whole picture & the top half of the second picture(it got cut off when I was loading them). I hope these help a little. I have been looking at fish pictures to see if I can ideantify them, but with no luck.
