I rescued him and some others and am having a hard time identifying there l number.
It is 1 1/2" and it's spots are orange-yellow. Any ideas?

lucky you, beatiful plecostomus (probably not corrct name) I would hang on to this one. Unfourtunatly, "plecostomus" are not captive breed, so many species are exported under the name hypostomus plecostomus, when in fact they are a completly different species. I have seen the type you have before, and I personally find them quite pretty. So please hang on to it as you dont see them that often. shawn

your suckermouth cat

I found a web site for you to peruse, just type loricarriid and search and you should go to a website that gives many descriptions and pictures of various sucker mouth cats in the family you are looking for, one I found was baryhcistrus niveatus i hope i have helped. shawn

doesn't have the yellow lines at the end of the tail fin..... I would have to say Angelicus or Vampire. I looked at www.planetcatfish.com and these seemed the closest in resemblence. You can look too, sort by L numbers.

Thank you for the site info. I have been looking but there are so many with white spots. It has a more pointy nose then my other plecos. I am hoping (wishing)L-282 king galaxy cactus.
I had a coupon to my lps for buy one fish get one. They are actually more of pet food supplier. I was in picking up food for my dogs saw this one and a gibbiceps got them both for 4.99!! Lucky me!!

if it is a vampire/galaxy pleco, it needs meat in its diet. one small raw shrimp a couple times a week should be enough.

I am just wishing right now it is to small to tell exactly or until I can get a better picture. I feed the plecos in that tank zucchini, algae discs and they enjoy cleaning up the bloodworms, brine and other frozen food that falls to the bottom. Would krill be O.K. or do you mean the kind from the grocery store.

i mean the fresh grocery store kind.
