I wish i could have a tank like that. think what you could keep!!
 
I think I'd rather have a swimming pool in the basement. :D

I guess my big hang up about these tanks is from a design point of view...I am an Interior Designer and I think it is important for man to meet beast from an architectural point of view...these basemnt tanks are really jsut for the owner and sort of "out of the way"...If i was to install a monster tank, it would be in a more central location for all to enjoy...I nice big indoor koi pond with an area to dine and socialize would really tie in well with the rest of the home....
 
I have to kick in here. IMNSHO tank size (like other things in life) is not as important as quality. Just down the road from me some folks have set up the biggest of them all, covering a third of the planet's surface. They call it the Pacific Ocean. I invite one and all to visit and enjoy the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Fantastic!

That is so true. I love my tanks but to me they almost have a modern look to them. I go for a natural look in my aquascaping (well..except for the 40 gallon..tacky tacky tacky but the mermaids who live in there really need that fiber-optic castle :D )

How would you go about making a tank have an "old" look or feel to it? I have tons of old family antiques and my decor definately centers around that. The tanks are in the living room so they can be completely enjoyed by all. Tucking them away in a basement or spare room just doesn't appeal to me.
 
My dream tank would be all-natural. Some slate rocks, beautiful plants, and a dark creme sand on the bottom.
If I had a tank that big, I'd invest in scuba equipment and go swimmin'.
 
i love the irony in the picture with the knives right in front of the tank. wondering which one to catch for dinner? mmmm, grilled pleco is my favorite.
