I'm dreaming of my 75 gallon tank again...

I definitely want to get 2 German Ram Cichlids, 2 Neon Blue Dwarf Gouramis, and 4 Sparkling Gouramis. I also want Cory Cats, Bleeding Heart Tetras, and Harlequin Rasboras. Maybe about 10 of each.

But I was also thinking of getting a Candystripe Pleco(L-135), some Purple Emperor Tetras, and/or some Hatchet fish.

What do you think for a planted 75 gallon tank?

Just looking for some advice on how many of each of the schooling fish to get so that my tank would have variety and look good. I don't want too few of the schooling fish, but I don't want to overstock my tank either. It is a 75 gal. tank with 2 Penguin 330 filters on it. When I turn it into my tropical tank, the filters will have those new super-cartridges in them. So, with this in mind, how many Emperor Tetras, Bleeding Heart Tetras, Harlequin Rasboras, Hatchet Fish, and/or Cory Cats should I get? With all that filtration, would I be able to fit 8 or 10 of each? Should I leave out one or two of those schools?

If you wanted that many of each of those schools, you are looking at 45-50 fish. not counting the gouramis or rams. IMO that is too many fish. The 2 rams, 6 gouramis, and a pleco are a must right? With those fish, I would then go with maybe 6 hatchets, 6 corys, and one school of tetras, maybe 15 or so. The tetras are primarily mid level fish and with 3 different schools, they will probably just mill around and be a mix of random fish. I have schools of neons, scissortails, blackskirts and serpaes in my 180g (8-10 each) and even with that much room they don't school all that great. They'll probably look much better if you get one fairly large school, IMO. :D

The only "must haves" are the Corys, Bleeding Heart Tetras, Rams, and Gouramis. The rest are "maybes."

I can drop the Emperor Tetras, and either the Rasboras or the Hatchets, depending on what my LFS has.
I am nervous about the Pleco because I'm afraid of the pet store giving me the wrong one. I would prefer the Candystripe, L-135, over the Starry night L-183.

Any thoughts?

That is where I saw it. :)

I'm still unsure about which schooling fish to get. It is a tough decision.

Any thoughts?
