i have a 10 gal and want to transfer everything to the 55.. i dont know what i need to do.... do i set it up and let it cycle like normal or can i use some water from my 10 gal? help me please

With such a substantial change in size, I would set the 55 up as if it were new, and then add everything from the 10 once it has cycled.

I'll also say. if you want to speed up the cycle of the new tank use some of the old. First setup the 55 the way you want it, but leave some space from the top so you can add more. Once you have it ready take some water from your 10g tank and add it as well as some substrate, sand crushed coral etc...
If you have floss filter media in the 10g replace it with new and put the old in the 55. This will help introduce the bacteria you need in the tank.
