I have a 20g with 70watts and DIY co2 injection.
Right now I have amazon sword, val, java moss, and anarchis. I would like to have a fuller looking aquarium what are some good plants to get, and how many should I get?

I'm looking for any type of plants, It's pretty sparse as of now. I love the look of heavily planted aquariums.
Here is what minw loks like now.

there are so many plants you can choose from.i would do a carpet of moss (lots to choose from again) in the front right or left, then on the other front side some e. tennelus.in the midground some various crypts (wendtii is always nice) with a lonely a. crispus in it.you can grow some anubias on your cave(is that driftwood?) then on the background i would do some hygro ,a tall sword , a group of vals and some mi oya crypts. too many to choose from. i changed my tank plns bout 20 time before making up my mind

You haven't had it set up very long that's for sure. That sword will outgrow your tank and the j.fern will do it's best to reach out of the top too. Your anacharis will probably start shooting off-shoots if it hasn't already that can be pinched off and re-planted.
As for other plants, go for some color. Some Alternanthera reineckii or "Sunset" Hygro polysperma, maybe rotala sp.. With that much light, the former would grow at a tolerable rate, the latter two would require some attention to keep it in line.
Hopefully you have a fertilizing routine in mind?

oh. just another thing. you might want to put on a background. it will look a lot better and the fish will feel more secure. i paint my backgrounds black . the backkgrounds with plants n difsh that they sell by the foot never looked right to me.

I just changed my background from the blue one that I had to black poster board.
Looks fine and is cheap enough if you don't like it you can take it down. I just covered it over with the old background to make it water proof.

Your gravel looks quite large and you may have trouble keeping plants down, especially small foreground ones.
I'd suggest dwarf sag, Sagittaria subdulata (sp?), for the front of the tank. It's quite easy, looks good and grows fast. For the background I'd try some stem plants like hygrophila, rotala, and ludwigia repens.
Like beviking said, the amazon sword could easily take over your whole tank. I had one that took up over 1/3 of my 72 gallon until I pulled it recently.

I like the look of Amazon sword, is there a good substitute for it?

Some nice and very undemanding plants you can use are cabomba, water wisteria, ambulia, and vallisneria. Vallisneria are commonly used for the back of the tank, and provide a nice backround. Water wisteria and cabomba grow very fast, and look nice as mid ground- backround plants. Foreground, i would agree that dwarf sagittaria is a good choice.
