Is it possible to see the air in the water when it's satuated? I have a lot of smal white things floating in my water, I always thought it was the air, but now I'm not so sure.

Yes it is possible. It could very well be tiny air bubbles floating through the water currents. I notice the very same thing in my tank from time to time...especially after cleaning a filter and any trapped air within the filter makes it's way out in the form of tiny bubbles.

Once I had my overflow tubing covered with some floating plants and the sump of the filter was nearly empty, so the return pump was catching more air than water. When I got home all the water was cloudy white. When I found out the reason, unclogged the tubing and everything wnet back to normal. I was really scared when I saw that

Just a quick clarification. Micro bubbles, which are visible, are not trelated to saturation levels of oxygen dissolved in the water, which is not visible.
