I thought I should start a new thread for this one. I tried the dilution technique that Oriongirl told me, and I still got no reading. HOWEVER, you guys have sold me on the DSB idea. I went to Menards today and bought 100lbs of all purpose play sand for $4.50. It's very fine, much more so than sugar, and white. It's supposed to be silica. I plan on taking on the aragonite and putting this stuff in, which probably is going to reduce my bacteria bad to 'nill. I have 8.5 lbs of base rock, and then there's other assorted places for bacteria, but for all purposes, I'm sure it'll be gone. Anyways, I may re-cycle with LR that I'll just cure in there or the shrimp method. I suppose if I use the LR to do it, I should probably use the skimmer then huh? Well, anyways, I like the sand look better anyways, and now I don't have to shell out 90 bucks for a refugium and try and build something to support it. Thanks for all the help.
