Hey Tyler718!! and everyone else too

I was looking at your pictures of you split-tailed grouami, and I think it might be a split-tailed betta. I know on the rest of you site you said it looked like a betta but is wasn't, but it has he EXACT body of a betta. I put it on a thread so we might be able to confirm the species.

There is no way that that fish is a gourami. It's a betta.

I second that....... that is DEFINITELY a betta!! A nice looking fish, but no gourami.....

I'm just calling it what the lfs called it. I think the same way, but there is another lfs that I always go to and they sell them under the same name. So I'm thinking that this is the name that they are selling them under locally.:confused:

makes me wonder if there's a pricing difference between the gourami's and betta's there at your 2 lfs's.... or if there's some other reason why there's a mix up....seems to me it's so obvious that it's a betta. The differences between the two by sight are unbelievable. IMHO, although both are Labyrinth Fish as well as Antabantoids, they don't look so much alike that they'd be so commonly confused.
