I have recently added African Cichlid Mix (Carib Sea) substrate to my 125 gallon aquarium. It keeps the ph constent and does all that fun stuff. However I am guessing i still need to add salt after every water change. I am going to purchase Cichlid Lake Salt. Unless you all talk me out of it or tell me not to buy.I hope that i am doing the right thing and not wasting my money on unneed materials.

If your tap water is already hard and has a pH well over 7, then you don't need to add the cichlid salts/buffers to the replacement water when doing water changes. The new substrate you bought will do everything for you anyway.

Agreed, test the water with the new substrate, do a water change (the largest that you could ever see yourself doing) and test again. If there's not much difference, then you can skip the cichlid salts.
