newbie! questions about eco-complete

i really like the eco-complete gravel but i have a few questions before i get to decide. my plants and the look are two of many reasons i want to try something like this.

1. how difficult to clean it with a siphon?
2. will my guppies, ramhorns, and apple snails be ok with it?
3. how long it lasts?
4. do i have to add anything to it (like normal gravels or something)?

hope i will get my questions answered! :)

I use it and have nothing but good things to say about it.

..No problem with the vacuming issue
..I'm guite sure the snails and guppies will be fine
..I don't know how long it lasts....but you will still need to dose ferts
..I use it by itself....no other substrate...but I have read of others who mix it with tahitian moon sand..or another black colored substrate which I can't remember the name of....

I'd say...go with it...it's good stuff !
 
alright, i'm glad. :) how big is your tank and how much of gravel did you get for your tank? i liked your blog.
