I was wondering what a good size tank would be for my office at work.

I dont want to go to big i was thinking 3 or 5 but i want to be able to have more than one fish for sure.

So any ideas on a certain tank brand, plants, fish etc.

Thanks for the help in advance

Hi,
I've got a "Waterhome 3" (3 gallon) made by Hagen. It comes with 9 watts of compact flourescent which is great for growing plants plus a "dual filter" system where you only replace one of the filter pads once a month, which maintains some of the good bacteria while you cycle the new tank. Filters are relatively cheap & it's got a fairly quiet filtering system. The only drawbacks for me so far is that plastic tanks scratch easily & the filter current is non-adjustable, so it's a little strong for my betta.

I started my tank with anacharis & vallisnaria plants while it cycled; fish-wise my 3 gallon houses just one betta. A 3 gallon is pretty small, so if you're looking for a lot of fish, I'd upgrade to something bigger as overcrowding a tank is not recommended. Maybe a small school of white cloud minnows would work though.

I have an Aquascene 5 from Petsmart. It had a Whisper in-tank filter included. I really like it for a small set up. It is kind of half a hexagon. Flat back but angled sides for a nice look. It had a hood with a 8 watt bulb. All I had to get was gravel, decor and small 25w heater. I am about to make this a sand bottom tank with live plants. Right now it has just a Betta in it. I will be adding 2 otos soon as I put in the new sand. You could put 3-4 fancy guppies in it. Or I had 4 Zebra Danios in mine for the longest time. They are simple little fish tat are fun to watch. Very active and hardy.
