Red tail black shark!

i Went to my LFS yesturday after three more glowlights for my 10g to make the shoal up to 6. i also wanted something for my 40g

i asked on this site if i could have more angels and got a mixed responce, i asked at LFS and they advised against more angels as mine has been on his own for 2 years and is nearly fully grown, so i asked what fish would be suitable, after short discussion i went for a redtail shark, which i've always wanted just never had one.

so i would now like info on this fish please?

do you think he would be ok?

He should be fine, but its always risky to buy a fish before doing the research :D . Just be sure to give him some good hiding spaces, they can get aggressive, but usually just want a place to claim as their own.
 
i have done reseach i wanted this fish years ago and did loads of reading up on it, but you can't beat people experiences with keeping fish, i've learnt a lot more from site like this then any profile page or book.

no book can cover all fish people have together in their tanks, so can never be sure if a certain fish will be ok, thats why i was asking.

any idea how quickly they can grow, mine is only an inch in lengh if that.

Not sure how quickly they grow in general, but very clean water through changes and quality food are among the biggest determinants of how fast a fish grows :D
