I inherited these fish when I bought my house a few weeks ago, previous owner left them for us as the tanks are built in to the wall unit. I have a few bottom feeders, but curious to see what species they are.

- 3 Catfish looking
- 2 that look prehistoric, with brisltes on their head
- 1 Waddler: This one concerns me, he didn't seem to have any fins or anything and waddles around, he's cute, but not sure if the other fish chewed his fins off.

Thanks in advance!
Victor

The 2 prehistoric fish are bristlenose plecos I believe. Not sure about the top picture...kinda dark.

The waddler may be a loach of some sort.

(edit) the top picture could be some sort of cory cats, but I can't see if they have coarse scales or fine. Some loaches and corys have similar looking shapes.

There's a couple plecos with whiskers like that. Bristlnose's, Starry Night, and Medusas all stay smaller than about 6 inches.

With those new pictures, I changed my mind on the other fish. The first picture/top looks like a sydontis multipunctatis catfish. Here's a picture, what do you think?

I think this is a match!

I didin't know until a few days ago that I have the bristle ones... only cause I saw an algae disc being destroyed by one! I'll look up pics of all suggested.

Thanks again, I really appreciate it!

Could the light spotted one be Synodontis angelicus, it's hard to tell from the picture. Below is a close match from planet catfish. If you follow this link back to the thumbs you see how variable S. angelicus can be.

That looks like a good match... except mine is missing all the fins  Wonder if he was pick on maybe... but still surviving

I think your waddler is a loach, all the fish look very nice and you should thank the previous owner. How big is the tank and have you experiance with tropical fish keeping?Youve found a great place to ask for advice here.good luck.

From the fish that you have up there i have been able to identify these ones so far bristlenoses, Cukoo syndontis, syndontis angelicus with no fins, the pleco could be panaque suttoni with no blue eye, or maybe Acanthicus hystrix depending on the tail.

It looks like the original owners were going for an African cichlid set-up (looks like coral/shell bits in the gravel). Which could explain the finless angelicus. In the first picture of the "wobbler" there's a blurred fish. What ofther tankmates are in there? What are the tank dimensions? By the way, those catfish aren't the least expensive cats around. It would be a shame to loose the finless angelicus.
