Hey all. I'm trying to get some angels established in my 55g community tank. I have some honey gouramis and corys and danios and otos in there with plenty of plants. My pH is 7.5 and I will be bringing that down with DIY CO2 shortly. I've purchased a total of 5 angels over the course of 3 or 4 days and 2 have up and died. One didn't make it through the night and one died 2 days after being introduced. I'm left with 3. 2 had been introduced yesterday and 1 is from the original 3 that I introduced a few days ago. It seems that the oldest one is bullying the others a little. It is also a little bit bigger than the others. The two newest guys hang around in one area of the tank, mostly towards the bottom. Every time they come out, the bigger one chases them around. I'm wondering, how do I stop this?
I'm thinking I should get more but I don't want to waste my money if they're only going to die from the stress of the bully. I also don't want to remove the bully since it's cool-looking. What's the solution? I want to go to the LFS and get 3 more angels to bring the count up to 6. Will that help at all or should I leave well enough alone? Thanks a lot.
