Hi Everyone,
Just curious how many of you use timers (wavemakers) with your powerheads?
Regardless of what you pick, please fill me in on why you choose to use a timer, or not to.

Thanks!

I like the constant flow from running mine 24/7. Not to mention it saves on the wear and tear of the powerhead.

What is a powerhead?

A powerhead is a small device that is used to put in your tank to create more water movement or flow.

i figure if i have my flow at about a 13x turnover rate, putting stuff on a timer would just cut down on my total flow. i know i could buy bigger to keep it going when each is off, but i havnt seen anything substantial telling me its that much better for my tank.

I only use powerhaeds for mixing saltwater, all the water movement in tank is caused by HOT filtration (only the biowheel has media)/protien skimming, and everything is run 24/7.

You should have them on 24/7 to prevent dead spots.

What is the purpose of putting your powerhead on a timer? I see none ....
