What store would you recemend buying fish? I bought a few at Wal-Mart but they died right away so i am not going to buy there anymore. Now i buy them at Petco but is there a better place?

do you have a phone book near you?
look up pets or aquatics and try to find a small mom &pop buiseness, they usually know a ton about fish and will help you, and they will have good quality fish.

If you are from Minneapolis, or near there (especially near Richfield), go to A World of Fish. You won't be disappointed, unless you are looking for something that never gets imported.

Yea, usually those big chain stores don't have good fish, nor do they care much about people, they just want to make a sale.

A local fish club auction. You have a major club there in Minneapolis. Very active. Some advanced fishkeepers.

wetman's on the right track...also look around for local breeders (usually clubs are a good spot to meet them). You'll get the highest quality fish for the cheapest prices.

I just search in a variety of places. Found good deal and healthy fishes in Petco,Petsmart,Petland and other chains. Just have to be very selective. Mom and pop places tend to have good rare selections and prices are higher. It boils down to lookin at the tank's condition as well as all the other fish that occupy it. The chains have guarantee on fish for limited time periods.

Try to shop around. A store that is expensive on aveage may actually have few spices that are cheaper than anyone else. Even stores in the same chain carry different fishes and with different prices. You got to know which store specialize in which kind of fish.
