Who out there has a Remora protein skimmer? What does your output look like? Im just curious because I replaced my Maxijet 1200 with a Magdrive3 and now I really get alot of waste but it really looks different from what it did before. Before I changed my pump it was alot darker in color and alot less. Now it really is alot more water than it was with the maxijet. I have to clean out my container more often but I'm just wanting to know if all I'm getting if just more water than waste if that makes sense. Oh yeah, I'm having a really big cyano problem and I am making some headway but it sure is taking a lot of time. :help:

I have a remora with a maxijet 1200 hundred and I get a yellow/brown liquid in the collection cup. At first i was worried that water was just getting in there, but I noticed that the bubbles rise in the neck and collect in the cup, the left over product is this nasty smelling water. From what i've read this is common and what you want. I'm thinking about upgrading to mag 3 when i get more live rock in the tank.
 
Have you tried raising the collection cup. With my cup low I get a iced tea colored liquid and if I raise I get a little less but it is much darker, almost black.
 
Before I added the Magdrive 3 I got a darker color of waste in my cup no matter where it was positioned. I never really paid much attention to the odor at first but now its got a strong odor so I assume its working but the water color is lighter. This stuff looks like Green Tea
