Is $80 for a 45 gallon (18Dx17Hx36L) and wrought iron stand a bad deal?
I know it's not the best deal ever but, should I go for it?

I think even without a hood it is pretty decent. I spent $100 on a 50g I had, that came with an oak stand and glass lids, to give you an idea. If it doesn't have lids, you might be able to have a glass shop cut you a few pieces for it for very cheap, but you would still have to worry about the lights. I guess it depends on how desperate you are for a tank :D . If you have the patience, I'm sure you could find a better deal later down the road

If its just a stand and the tank its not a "good" deal but i wouldn't say its unfair. I personally woudnt buy it.

Well, I got the stand, the tank, and 2 other large tanks.... for $80. I probably could have offered lower and gotten it, the woman really wanted to get rid of them, but the initial price was $80 so I stuck with it.

I'm going to see if the LFS I work at wants the other tanks.

I know you are probably going to scold me, but I am going to make it a puffer tank... right now I basically emptied my 25 gallon and 10 gallon so I have a 3" GSP and 3 Dwarf Puffers in about 1.005 sg (not sure how the DP's will do but I figure it's low end brackish and they are doing terrific so far). I plan on giving the DP's to the LFS before I raise the salinity.

Blah, this is in the freshwater section, isn't it... Well, I'm thinking of getting another GSP, or maybe a ceylon....
