I have a 55 with 3 clowns and I'm setting up a 75 for them. If I have a waterbridge..then they could go back and forth between the 2, right? So more room . The tanks are at right angles to each other like an L. I have directions for a water bridge, but was afraid once the clowns are bigger they wound't fit. How do you build your water bridges? LOL..my fish are only about 2 1/2 inches, I have a while, but I like to plan ahead. Given a set-up like this, how many clowns would you have in that? Just the 3, or could I get a couple more?

Yes, some fish will use the water-tunnel bridges to swim from tank to tank. My clowns use them constantly. My barbs, rainbowfish, Kuhli loaches, and Bristlenose Pleco's use the tunnels about everyday. My Tetra's very rarely use the tunnels.

You can always upgrade to a larger size water-tunnel. I've upgraded from 3.5" pvc pipe tunnels to 8"x4" acrylic rectangular tunnels. I'll probably have to upgrade again in 5 years.

I think you could add 4 more clowns if you add a 75g tank.

Here are some pic's of the 2 styles of water-tunnel bridges-

This is one of my old tunnels made from 3.5" clear acrylic pipe and pvc elbows. My clowns didn't like these too much. I think they felt very insecure when inside because they'd swim through the pipe as quickly as they could. I didn't like the pipes either because the fish looked morphed when they were inside it.

This is made of acrylic sheet-

The clowns like these tunnels alot better. I taped a black background 3/4 around the top of the tunnel to make it darker for the clowns...

I also have various plants growing in these tunnels. For the past few months
I've been trying to grow some Riccia Flutians. I want to get some Java Moss because it would probably grow alot quicker.

OMG, that is SO cool!

Thanks for asking about this Nursie. Gotta build me one.

Chefkeith,
Do your Rainbows use it at all? I have Boesemani and am putting pseudoincisus into another tank. Don't want those two to mix if I can help it.

I have directions from someone with step by step for the clear pvc pipe type. Did you build the other one yourself, or did you have it made.
I was really only thinking about a couple of more loaches...so sounds like I'm good.

I like what you have in your tanks..I want to expand my rainbows too. I got them on a suggestion from someone here and have been very pleased. they are so colorful and active.

Atleast some of the Boesmani use the tunnels. It's hard to tell if they all do though because most of them look so much alike. They don't travel in groups or pairs like my other fish. It's like they are all single and looking.

I built them. I drew a blueprint, then calculated out a cut-list. Then I had my plastics dealer cut all the pieces to size. Then I cemented all the pieces together.

Here are some pics of the build in its process =

Simply Awesome.

Anyone see the tanks at the entrance to Disney World's jungle restaurant in Animal Kingdom?

It is two large cylindrical acrylics (5' diam x 10' tall?) connected overhead by another 1/2 cylinder. Nice marine setup to watch while you're on line. Of all the stupid pic's I came back with I don't believe I didn't get this.

You just got my vote for coolest thread ever! I've never seen a water bridge before, and I'm amazed!

Halo..and others interested...here is another article I had bookmarked:
http://www.bio-elite.com/waterbridge.htm

I also saw pic of one once that went up anond the ceiling and across the room to the other tank...wish I'd bookmarked that one.

I like the look of ChefKeith's better..but how do you fill and keep the waterbridge filled?
