I am setting up a new 20L as soon as I get the stand made for it in the next week or so. It will be planted with Red Cherry Shimp as the colony is growing.
It will be a 20L with a 55watt DIY from A&H retro fitted into a 30" plastic light hood that came with my 29gal over a glass top. It will have Flourite for the substrate and driftwood. For filtration I think I will be using a sponge filter (currently in a heavy planted ghost shrimp tank) and moving over a small PF that is only for up to 3 gal but it has been running on their (RCS) current tank so would have good bacteria in it.
Right now I only have Najas grass, java moss, frogbit floating on the top and a couple of Algea balls. I also have driftwood with java moss and java fern attached to it that the RCS love to climb all over. I dose Flourish every week. And do 15% wc everyweek with a mix of tap and RO using Prime to condition it.
What sort of plants could I add to this new setup that would thrive? I would like to keep away from CO2 if possible due to inexperience. Would I need to use anything other than Flourish? I have to stay away from copper because of the RCS. PH stays around 7.2 right now in all my tanks.
Thanks in advance for any idea's.
