Ok, so I went out and got my first two real fish last week, two ys maroons. Well from all my previous knowledge and reading, you should get em young or one 3 times smaller than the other and introduce em slowly through glass.

Welp, I got one about 3" and the other about 2 1/2". . yeah yeah I know, should of been a blood bath by day two, but it wasn't! The smaller one bowed down to the larger and now they seem (so far) inseperable! They seem to be pairing up and it tickles me pink. Man I was praying they wouldn't be both females and kill each other, even tho I have read "two females wont be hospitable" and "a male alone long enough will be female and can't go back to male" and then heard "females can go back male", and that you can only pair 'em "if they are two thirds different in size", and that "any maroon over 2" alone is surely a female" I have heard so many differring opinions...And yet here I am :)

YS Maroon are by far my faves because of their size and attitudes so I took the only two my friend had in his shop, what patience? LOL

Anyhow, for those of you that know what I am referring to, this is something I thought I would share because of the fact it should be a no go and could of led to bloodshed.

So glad for your pairing!
My experience with 2 false clowns was that they were buddies for 4 months..sleeping together etc..
(both about 2-2.25") and one day they were at each other's throats!
seems that when the hormone hits -lookout~!
The bigger one will want to be the egg-bearer and if she doesn't get enough
bowing and submissing-fighting will ensue.
(the smaller one was actually MORE aggressive)
anyhow, I now have one in my 55 reef and another in mt 15 gal Hosp tank, that has been converted to a nano...his new home.
I let nature take it course until the bite marks were too many and the poor thing was up under the powerhead trying to hide.
Yeah, I intervened in nature, what can I say?

I hope your continue to love, honor and cherish!
Please keep us informed!
