I looked at my filter and was a bit confused, It's a marineland H.O.T Magnum professional filter, I read their site and Am still confused, anyone heard of them or have experience with them, there's no problem with it but I am wondering if it's a good filter??

Couple of us have them. By Pro I assume you mean that it has a Bio Wheel? Or is it the one that does the vacuuming?

I have the 250 and I use it for water polishing and mechanical on my 36g. I use my Bio Wheel for biological filteration.

Yes, it's a good filter, however the outflow is horrendous. Mine killed an oto I had that was carrying eggs. anonapersona (I think it was) has one as well. As long as you tweak the nozzle on the outflow (I put a nylon over the end to diffuse and she removed the nozzle and pointed the tube at the back of the tank) then you are fine.

No, Atleast I dont think it's a biowheel, there is no wheel in there at all, i know I am missing some small parts for it but it works like a champ, I dont know if it's a vac one either, I know nothing about it, I will snag a pic of it real soon
