Currently, I have this tank with 2 rays (6") , a clown knife (8") , 9 gouramies (7 adult, 2 juvenile), 2 almost fully grown angels (5") and 2 otos. They seem to get along fine.

Today, while crusing a LFS I saw this 5-6 inch long-silver-barracuda-mean-looking fish. To my surprise, it's a Freshwater Barracuda (Ctenolucius hujeta).

The info in the web is contradictory: some places say "aggresive" while other say "calm", even though it feeds on live food only.

I want to rush to the store and buy it, but something inside tells me no. Any experience with this fish?

Here are some quick links on the species:

From what i have read they get to be about 9 inches long and inhale any fish that they can fit in their mouths. In a tank your size you might have them grow to the size of a foot or so. Plus they seem to love extremely high filtration which on a 250g might be hard to accomplish, but i do not know the true specs of your aquarium, hope some of this helps.
