I have some No Salt and would like to mix up 250 mls of solution to add K to my 33 gallon tank. I am looking at the ingredients on the label...
Potassium chloride, potassium bitartrate, adipic acid, silicon dioxide, mineral oil.
Is this the same No Salt that everyone else is using? Are there any bi products in this stuff that will harm the plants or fish in the tank?
I was able to find this at my local Safeway Store.
Thanks

the stuff i have is called Nu-Salt and is very similar.
ingredients: potassium chloride, <1% cream of Tarter, silicon dioxide and natural flavor
i suspect the 'flavor' is an MSG derivative, but who knows.
i rarely use it any more than a superstitious shake into my planted tank, but i've had no ill effects. i'm curious too.

You'd be surprised at how many people add Nu-salt to their tanks as a K source. I know I added to my planted tanks. It's a good, cheap source of potassium.

Adding 1 gram of KCl to 10g will raise K by ~15ppm. I've looked at using it but is an expensive option compared to K2SO4.

Thanks everyone for the replies....I was at the LFS today to see how expensive the Seachem Potassium supplement was. I have been using Flourish, Flourish Excel, Flourish Iron, and Flourish tabs in the substrate ....you guessed it ....Flourite!! I think they have enough of my dough for now!
Reiverix....your 75 gal community tank looks awesome!
Thought I'd add some info.
tank is 33 gallon heavily planted
diy co2, aquaclear 200, 2 foam inserts and ceramic insert
0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, nutrafin test kit always shows the lowest level of nitrate.
2 x 36 watt pc lights from AH Supply.
A couple of my supposedly fast growing plants (Hygrophila Polysperma) are not doing well. Stems going dark at the bottom and leaves that seem to melt. Crypts also loosing a couple of leaves a week to spotty leaves that eventually turn yellow and melt. Any thoughts?
