How many times should I test my water? I have a 40 Gallon with 4 Gouramis in it right now.
I test for pH, nitrAtes and KH usually every time I do a water change. After a tank has cycled and is fairly well established I don't usually test for ammonia or nitrites unless the fish don't look right.
But, if you have a tank that is cycling or has just finished cycling you may want to test more often(definatly more often for ammo and 'trites).
