I have a 46 gallon bowed front aquarium. It has 2 filter systems in it. A 30/60 dual filter system that goes ALL the way down to the gravel. Then I have a 10/15 that sucks all the top stuff, so I would say its well filtered, maybe I am wrong. I currently have 9 fish, 8 African Cichlids, all dont get over 5 inches big, and 1 Plecostomus. How many more fish can I add to this tank?

I have a 46 bowed. I have 5 fish plus a pl*co. I'm gonna need a much bigger tank, however my bichirs get large. I would say that 17 is a little much but I prefer to give my fish a lot of room. I couldn't really tell you if it's over stocked though. My girlfriends Dad's Tank has a 9 inch tinfoil barb, 3 koi, a needlenose gar, a ropefish and many swordtails. I keep telling him that a 40 gallon does NOT work for them but he doesn't seem to change anything. You should be ok I would say if all of your fish stay under 5 inches. Just my 2 cents and a story.

so I am at my limit right now?

We need to know what kind of fish you have. The length of the fish is importent but so is width and height. Also different types of plecos grow to be different sizes. With this infromation we can help you.
