A little interactive excercise. Just bought a Kuhli Loach (was going to get a yo-yo, but the kuhli was SO cool...) and he's doing well (out and about now that the lights are off).
He seems very shy. He was in the crayfish cave for several hours today and that set my mind at ease a little (of course 90% of the time the crayfish is next to the butterfly loach so I am not too worried about his temperment). Also spent several hours near my other loach, so at least he's not too distraught about not having a school (YET - I'm thinking about a tank with an "all loach" theme weathers, kuhlis, butterflies, yo-yos> NO SNAILS IN THAT TANK!).
I am going to make some sand pockets in my fairly gravelly substrate so he has places where he can easily bury himself. Under rocks & plants all day. Cool little fish.
What's a good name for my Kuhli? I am looking for something apt, and I'd wait for his personality to emerge a little more, but I figured this would be fun.
:OT: One thing that bothered me, at my LFS the girl there today was having trouble spooking the loaches out to net one and she's like crashing the net through the gravel and I couldn't believe she wasn't crushing hidden fish. Reminded me of Elmira from Animaniacs... Same girl once sold me some tetra's and busted up three of four so bad they died the first day I had them! I didn't notice in the bag how bad they looked... of course I returned them and made a point to speak with the owner. Why have someone working at the store who doesn't care about the animals? Peeved, but my loach seems OK... I should just walk out next time she's working, watching her net fish is torture... :OT:

when we went back she was like "no i don't need help" to him but when the girl we know and like came over we were like "we want that one and that one and that one" lol
