Hey all-

Just got a 30g tank (already cycled) and wanted to know whether I was at my limit. Already have 8 Neon Tetras, 2 dwarf gourami, 2 blue cobra guppies, a bristlenose pleco, a sparkling gourami, and a dwarf frog.

Do you think I'd be pushing it to add anything else? If not, what do you recommend?

Thanks!

Most of those are really small fish so I'd say no you're not pushing it you can add a bit more. Actually i'm not sure how big that frog gets and sometimes non-dwarf gouramis can get pretty big.

The frogs can get to be about 1.5-2 inches. Any ideas for good additions? I was thinking about either some Rasaboras or Barbs. Or should I go with some slightly bigger fish?

I was told that sparkling gouramis are a type of dwarf gourami and don't get much more than 2 inches, so that shouldn't be a problem. I would maybe add a few otocinclus cats 'cause they're fun to watch, don't get big and clean up.

( If I wasn't already in trouble I would have suggested a couple of Oscars, a trio of Pacus or something like that. But I won't.)

Ah. I see. Maybe add a couple more fish to existing schools? How about a couple of Killifish or some platys? What do you think?

To uh.. eat the guppies, neons, and frog? :duh:

Maybe some corys? Or a blue or gold ram if you want another big fish, plus they stay near the bottom/ middle of the tank and would offset the top dwelling gourami's nicely.
I have a similar set up, here it is:
1 flame dwarf gourami, 1 blue dwarf gourami, 1 gold ram, 1 blue ram, 8 white clouds, 2 panda cories, and 2 ottos.
